Wiki-Washing

Well, it was bound to happen. People have been caught red-handed modifying Wiki pages for self-centered, ego-driven revisionist purposes. The worst part is ... it was US federal government employees in Washington DC! That's right! The White House administration has been caught. In fact, the folks at wiki have had to block their network from editing for "brief periods ... due to inappropriate contributions." Read on here slashdot.

I'm glad that somebody's watching these things, and even more glad that wiki takes the step of blocking the activity. It's very sad that you can't have a communal resource that others don't mark up for their own self-indulgent purposes.
